I would like to give you a quick review on my latest Hudabeauty purchase;
Faux Mink lashes; Farah #12
What I absolutely love about the faux mink lashes is that they are triple stacked for a more dramatic look.
The lashes also provide a 3D effect that creates a glamorous touch in combination with the extra length.
I must say that this is a musthave for lash lovers!
The Lip Strobe is a strobing mettalic gloss that comes in 12 shades.
You can use it alone or on top of any other lip color.
It provides volume and shimmer.
To create a more matte look you can use some blothing powder.
I took a trip to Barcelona last weekend and offcourse I had to pay a visit to my dearest SEPHORA.
Everytime I’am there I feel like a kid in a candystore! I transform into a make up monster and purchase everything I like.
For the Holiday season it’s even better to be there because a lot of brands have special Limited Edition Gift Sets.
One of my goodies is from Too Faced Cosmetics. Too Faced The Chocolate Shop is one of several gift sets and eyeshadow palettes that are part of the Too Faced Christmas in New York Holiday 2016 Collection.
Inside the package you will find mini sizes of my alltime favorite Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara, Shadow Insurance Eyeshadow Primer, and a Melted Chocolate Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Chocolate Milkshake.
The set comes with a total of 21 eyeshadow shades. There’s also a highlighter a Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, and a Blush which.
From NARS I purchased some very nice matte lip shades. The application of a lipstick combined with the convenience of a pencil in a jumbo crayon design is just everything!!!
The colors are rich pigments and create a velvety matte finish. Use for lining, all-over lip color, or pairing with another lip product.
With all my Xmass goodies I’am all set and done for the Holidays!
Fashion trends are a big form of influance to the shape of the eyebrows. Currently BOLDBROWS (fully trimmed eyebrows) are a big hype in the magazines and social media.
Beautiful eyebrows automatically create a beautiful face expression. That’s why it’s very important to take good notice and care of the following steps when shaping your eyebrows;
-the shape of your face (round, oval, angular, long ..)
-the shape of your eyes
-the color and texture of your eyebrow makeup
By plucking you remove excess hair that grows just outside your desired shape. You can also trim your eyebrows to get a more forward form. But which product is suitable to create a nice and even colored AND natural looking eyebrow ..?
A brow powder?
As an makeup artist I am constantly testing various makeup products.
I’m a fan of a dark brown eyebrow pencil when it comes to coloring and browshaping. Until one of my clients offered me a sample of the Brow Extender from Divaderme Cosmetics.
Divaderme Brow Extender is composed of fibers made from natural ingredients and minerals. The fibers are semi permanent and waterproof. These fibers give your eyebrows the effects of more hair and volume. Besides the fact that the Brow Extender makes your eyebrows nice uniform color throughout and it is once again caring for the natural moisturizers that are incorporated into the fibers. What else do you want!
The Brow Extender applies on very easily. After you have fixed your eyebrows into shape, place the fibers gradually between your hairs.
I think it’s nice to finish with an eyebrow gel so my eyebrow shape is fly and fierce all day long.
This amazing product is hypoallergenic, it contains no parabens or gluten and it is not tested on animals.
The Brow Extender is available in the colors Espresso Brown Ash Blonde and Cappuccino Brown.
I’am so obsessed with my new Morphe 35N Matte Palette and I have been super excited to blog about it!
I have heard so many good things from other make up artists about these shadows that it was a must for me to purchase it for my professional make up kit.
In the fall and winter time, I’m really a big fan of matte eyeshadow and matte makeup looks. That was the main reason for me to seek for a palette with a range of color choice and variety of shades.
The brand Morphe Brushes has several eyeshadow palettes in theire range including a matte palette; Morphe Matte 35N.
The pallette consists of 35 colors ranging from nude earth tones to warm tones such as dark plums, red, and browns.
The shades are suitable for your everyday look or for a deep smokey eye. These shadows are so pigmented and easy to blend. I honestly did not expect such amazing pigmentation for this pricerange. For those that like a more intenser pigmented look I recommend to spray some fixation spray on your brush and blend it with your shade.
This palette is definitely a fall/winter make up MUST HAVE of the moment.
Through my work as a sales consultant and makeup artist , I am closely involved in the developments of the beauty industry.
However , I came to the conclusion that as a woman from an ethnic minority I do not always recognize myself in the market segmentation of various brands. Every women wants to look good and take good care of herself.
A nice appearance creates empowerment and enhances your identity.
The ads and campaigns mainly show a typical stereotype kind of women. In relation to todays multicultural society this makes no sense.
The use of these stereotypes may therefore unconsciously create an undesirable influence on the effect of the advertisement and the image of the brand.
After thoroughly studying and analyzing various cosmetics magazines , social media campaigns, and different brands it came clear something was missing; The visible presence of more color and diversity.
A few brands are already using ethnic minorities in their advertisements.
Unfortunately not all brands al integrated when it comes to the demographics of our modern multicultural society.
The society we live in has a large diversity of populations that are a very interesting target audience for the cosmetics industry.
Do I want to assist Youtube Beauty Blogger and Make Up Artist Linda Stephanie during a Eyebrow & Eyeliner Masterclass ..?! Uhm Yes Please! 😃
Linda Stephanie is known for her youtube tutorials and wonderful artistic eye makeup looks.
That’s why I was really looking forward to be able to assist Linda during one of her Masterclasses in Rotterdam.
The group consisted of enthusiastic make up artists who wanted to expand their creativity.
The lesson began with a detailed explanation of the drawing and shaping of the perfect eyebrow, and what aspects you should focus on in a face. Products that can be used are a pencil, powder or dipbrow.
After the explanation it was time for the students to practice. It was my job to make sure that all the questions were answered and any tips where given when needed.
Linda is a true expert when it comes to the perfect eyeliner wing if i do say so myself 🙂
It was explained that it can be drawn in various ways, and which products are the most suitable for this purpose; Gel, liquid liner etc ..
Also, Linda taught us that it was best to start of with a pencil, and to create an imaginary line to upgrade your flawless wing.
I’ve been given the unique opportunity to work with a super talented and amazing makeup artist! Unfortunately, three hours had passed too quickly. It was a fun and educational experience. Thanks to Linda, I’ve improved my knowledge and skills.
… “Hey Xiomara how are you doing?, would you like to be part of the makeup team during Rotterdam Fashion Week on the 12th of September … ‘?” Uuuhhh Hell yeah! was my thought when reading this message of make up artist Maico Kemper. This really made my day;the idea that I can express my skills and creativity during one of the greatest fashion events in the fashion industry.
The Rotterdam Fashion Week ‘Salonè Della Moda’, was held at LP2 Las Palmas.
This amazing lifestyle and fashion event was entirely in the hands of the talented creative director Jerry Luxenburg. He really did everything to create a unique event in which both national and international designers and brands were able to present their creations.
Meanwhile backstage all the models were busy with the fitting of all the clothes and shoes while the makeup team was getting instructed by key MUA’s Maico Kemper and Zouhair Benkabbou with the looks for the shows.
We practiced all the techniques and looks that we had to create for
the models. My team was responsible for the make up of the brands Story Dress and Minirine.
The dynamic and chaos was something that I had to get used to at first backstage.
In the heat of the moment, the pressure was also increasing. This for me was a great learning experience. Fortunately, I was surrounded by talented, helpfull and generous make up artists.
All the skincare products that we used where provided by Aicha Pure Beauty.
The Story Dress look was a combination of lines around the eyes and a red mouth. The focus was on the wing eyeliner and tight parallel lines.
For the Minirine make up was the focus again on the eyes in combination with a red eye shadow creation. Blending Blending Blending and another blend was the key essential for this look.
Just before the start of the show all the models were equally in a line-up stand.
Possible adjustments could be made to the make up look and finishing touch.
A lot of press, bloggers and PR girls were running back and forth to get a backstage preview and experience the models and the atmosphere.
I was very happy that I got the opportunity to actually watch the shows and most important my own make up work. With a very proud feeling I was looking at the models, their makeup and of course the amazing clothes in which they walked. All the hard work was rewarded at that time.
The Story Dress clothes all tell their own story on the theme of Vincent Van Gogh.
Minirine clothing is characterized by colorful visuals and unique prints that are inspired by street art and traveling.
Salonè Della Moda gave me the chance to meet a lot of talented, beautiful and inspiring people and the opportunity to acquire a unique experience that I’m really grateful for!
